It works very well with these fixes. I just laid the end of the new wire along the short Belkin antenna wire and wrapped a bit of clear tape around the two for the length of the blue Belkin wire. At FM transmitter frequencies they couple by capacitance very effectively. As reported by Chris H from Bryan/College Station, TX on 4/12/2009, the unit produced a lot of static as delivered. I really like its feature of turning on and off automatically with the music source - prevents battery drain. This helped a lot but there was still occasional static. I made his suggested fix, separating the blue antenna wire from the bundle going to the MP3 player. I enhanced the fix by coupling a longer wire, the same length as the FM antenna on my car, to the Belkin antenna wire.
the product dosent work at all if u wanna good transmitter get the tunefree transmitter now it works awsome i love it.
I love that it automatically turns it self off as well. I has a wide variety of frequencies to choose from, alot better then my original belkin transmitter which only had the option for 3 or 4 frequencies. It just means 1 less thing to worry about, I just pause my iPod or switch of the DVD player in the back of my car and then am worry free. I am very happy with this product. The signal is a bit week and is easily interrupted by High Voltage power lines, but it has been a lot better then several of the transmitters I have used in the past.
Save your money and steer clear of this unit. This is one of the worst FM Transmitter's that are sold without directions and once you figure out how it works - the performance is quite dissatisfying. There is way too much static & noise feedback and the volume control even at it's max on your car stereo combined with their highest volume setting still requires anyone to opt for a hearing aid.
And "warranty" service from Belkin is non-existent.Save your money for a quality product from a quality manufacturer. It is complete junk. Belkin is not one of these. This product does not work at all. Do not buy it.
